Smooth, nutty, chocolately (nutella?), with a dark chocolately body and shallow beige head. Vague suggestion of caramel, lighter body than I expected but easy to drink in a pleasant way.

Pours transparent brown with ruby overtones. Tan head clings to the side of the glass. The aroma is hazelnut coffee and hops. The first sip made me say wow now there is something different. The flavor is amazing. The hazelnut flavor really comes through in the first sip. I let the glass warm a little while reading some of the reviews here and I think that was wise. This is bursting with goodness from a style that I usually find quite drab. There is also malt and some roasted flavor and even some vanilla. I think it is very balanced and while it isn’t too thick it feels good in the mouth almost buttery. This is my favorite nut brown ale now. My first rating of a Rogue beer as well and I must say I’m quite impressed with this one.

Bottle. Pours hazy, oaky chestnut brown with creamy beige head. Rich aroma of cappuccino, vanilla/Irish creme, chocolate, and hazelnut. Mostly sweet, creamy flavors of hazelnut and malts - like Whoppers candy. Low carbonation and velvety mouthfeel. Could use a bit more hops for balance, but creamy sweetness has its place, too. A tasty, complex beer.

22 oz bomber. Pours a dark brown with a rich, full light brown head. Aroma of hazelnuts, coffee, and chocolate. Great malty flavor which is matched perfectly with the hazelnut. I enjoyed this beer very much.

Deep brown with a small tan head that vanishes quickly. Aroma is mild nutty, roasted malts. Flavors are what really make this one though; Hazelnut, roasted malt, toffee, caramel. Heavy and creamy with just enough hoppy bitterness to keep the finish dry, crisp and smooth. Outstanding!

Morimoto bomber. Dark brown with some tannish creamy head, somewhat translucent. Nose is all nuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, maybe some almond. Taste is, you guessed it, hazelnutty delicious. Nice chocolate, toffee, and vanilla notes. Very creamy texture, albeit thin.

I really enjoyed this beer. On the pour, creamy with a small head. Very dark and translucent. Aroma of carmel, coffee, nutty, and toffee. Initial tastes are slightly sweet, a complex mix of carmel, toffee, little bit of chocolate, maybe some fruit in there. Slightly bitter on the palate, but very refreshing. The flavor is incredibly balanced, and delicate. I dont agree with the posts that say this beer is overpowering or unbalanced, because its not. This may be a drink that you’re average beer drinker wouldnt like, but I think its great, and well deserving of the 95% it received.
