Very carbonate on the tongue and finished very smooth with a strong taste of hazelnut. Would drink it again and again. cyrenaica (440), Milton, Ontario, Canada

I tried this beer on October 10, 2008 aftyer purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a translucent very dark brown, with a creamy, tan coloured head. The aroma was dark malt, muts, and chocolate. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, some hazelnut, and some hops. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Pours opaque dark amber with a fast dissipating tan head. Aroma is intoxicating blend of the hazelnut and maple syrup. The flavor is nearly as great, nice and nutty, with a bready, toasted malt backbone. The palate is creamy and sticky. This is what a brown ale should taste like. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA

I can definetly taste the Hazelnut extract, its like someone poured some Frangelico in there. Possibily my #1 choice for a dessert beer. Normally I am an IPA man, but sometimes you gotta switch it up. dmtroyer (410), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Thin brown head that disappears quickly. Aroma is a bit lacking and hard to find. Flavor delivers exactly what I hoped! Great carbonation and smooth mouthfeel, good sweet malt and hop that reminds me of Christmas in Germany... (It seems hazelnut is in everything christmas and not too much sweetness). Really hits the nuttiness on the head. Has a certain buttery creaminess that is very reminiscent of eating nuts and how the fat from the nuts coats one’s palate. Will probably go back to this one, a brown ale with character. rcasta (488), El Salvador

The hazelnut is very evident in the aroma and taste, especially after it warms a bit, but most of all in the finish, pleasant nutty aftertaste. nice malty beverage with subtle hops. I could drink this very regularly. illidurit (890), Santa Cruz, California, USA

The aroma has an obvious hazelnut note drifting above sweet and roasty malt. Flavor is much the same, with roasted barley and chocolate setting the foundation for a rich nuttiness that is thankfully not overpowering. Dry finish, smooth on the palate. Really easy to drink.
