Lots of nutty, hazelnut in the aroma along with some sweet roasted malt. Light chocolate. Flavour is an immediate big hit of hazelnut, almost like drinking a jar of nutella, but then becomes more complex with some deeper chocolate, malt, and a faint hoppiness which contributes just the right amount of bitterness to the finish. A very fine beer, like a desert, with a sweetness that is never cloying. Quite sessionable actually; I could drink a lot of this. In retrospect, it may be my favourite Rogue Ale...or maybe it was just exactly what I wanted on this occasion. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

Flavor is more hazelnut, some red grape skins, nutella, some woodsy scotch tones. Winey mouthfeel, heavy but smooth. Long chocolate malt finish. Quite complex and very good brown ale. Aroma of nutella, some toasted malt, chocolate. Beautiful, not cloying. Flavour full and silky smooth - wonderful malts, milk chocolate with some dry nuttiness. A slight oiliness as well. The hazelnut and sweet spices come thorugh nicely. It reminds me of eatig cinnamon toast as a kid. The mouthfeel is lightand the finish is clean and doesnt linger for too long. Its not hopped very much as the bitterness is not very noticable, but honestly I like that in this particlar beer. I would suggest stopping by the Rogue brewery if one had the chance. TheKegergator (241), California, USA

Dark amber into a nice light tan head. Smell is nutty and malts. Tase is great, IMO. Very up front hazelnut. Very rich in flavor. Smooth, sweet finish with even more hazel nut aftertaste. kgoldsbe (3), Denver, Colorado, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Although the hazelnut is very present in the taste and aroma of this beer it is not overpowering. Great beer to savor as you drink it!
