Sep 11, 2001 Very delicious ale. The hint of chocolate compliments the hazelnut flavor. Well balanced with no aftertaste.

Mar 10, 2003 Dark mahogany with a rich mocha and hazelnut aroma. Medium bodied with roasted malts and balancing hops. Very delicious and drinkable. I usually don't think much of brown ales, but this one got my attention. Great stuff.

Oct 14, 2003 Sampled at From The Vine monthly beer tasting Oct 13th, 2003: Kudos to Rogue for not making a run-of-the-mill Brown Ale. Pours a dark brown color with a medium light tan head. Nice spidery lacing. Huge caramel aroma along with the telltale hazelnut. Somewhat rich with a nice mixture of malt, nuts, caramel and hops in the flavor. The finish is rich and nutty. I like this one.

Mar 25, 2003 Wow. Can you say hazelnut. This is a very good beer but unless you like hazelnut flavoring, this may be a bit much.

Nov 15, 2001 Updated: Jun 24, 2003Deep red/brown.Pretty nice head and lace. Nice dessert-like aroma of chocolate and sweet hazelnut . Palate is full of sweet and roasted nuts mingling with a smooth malt profile. Body is a little thin but the finish is rich,smooth hazelnut with a quick shot of hops at the end creating a little bit of dryness. Nice beer. Didnt think it was too sweet either. Kicks Newcastle's(had it earlier at dinner) ass like Rocky beating on Clubber.

Jan 3, 2005 Mild roasty chocolatey nose with a mild citrus hop notes and relatively no aromas of hazelnuts. Mildly hazy amber color with a yellowish tan head that dissipates pretty quickly. Roasty star with some mild hints of sweet hazelnuts in the middle. Finishes chocolatey and roasty. This is very well balanced and very nicely done! Need more aroma, though.
