You think it’s gonna be sweet from the aroma and front end flavors but to my amazement it stays totally dry. This is a very interesting brew. The color is a rich brown with a splash of red creating a slightly tawnied blood hue. Pours a chocolate milk colored froth that hangs around for a while. Overall; a very rich and aromatic brew that is ballanced. The finish is smooth and lingers. beachbum25 (797), Powellville, Maryland, USA

Rogue’s stuff is a bit more carbonated than I generally care for, but the aroma and taste were both amazing. Definitely tastes of hazelnut. A great choice if you can find it (or afford it). decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA

A dark brown beer with a hint of red when held to the light. It has a flavor of sweet hazelnut coffee. A good finishing bitter that eases on you and lasts. A smoothly carbonated beer that the palate doesn’t weaken much as it warms. veringer (5), USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 25, 2006 One of my faves. However, it’s tough to have more than one or two at a sitting. drinkbeer (280), Redondo Beach, California, USA

Poured with some force and still only a thin ring of head on the outskirts of the glass...eerily headless. The aroma is at first nutty and a bit caremely, followed by a very mild alcohol aroma. Thick and smooth palate with tight carbonation. Hazelnut flavor dominates the finish. I really enjoy this ultra-smooth, nutty libation. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA

Aroma: nutty, malty, sweet maple/hazlenut, maybe even some toffee here. Flavor: Wow, I haven’t tasted this before. Hazelnut, carmel, butter, sweet, but also with a slight hop bitterness. Nicely balanced. Finishes malty with a toffee/hazelnut aftertaste. Excellent beer. thegreenrooster (1841), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Aroma is wonderful...nuts and hops with a roastey goodness. Flavor is nuts, rasions with some roasted malts in there, in the end you get some hop bitternes. Another good one from Rogue!
