22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours a very nice, dark brown with red hints. Has a decent tan head, than leaves quickly. No lacing. Aroma of burnt wood and chocolate. This one has a complex flavor that starts sweet with semi-sweet chocolate and roasted nuts. The hops are noticable, but certainly play second fiddle to the malts. Palate is creamy, but a bit thin and watery. Overall, this is a VERY complex, and very tasty brown ale, wish I could find it in 12 oz bottles.

Jul 13, 2008 Bottled: Pours a dark ruby brown color with a tan froathy head. Smells tastefull hazelnuts and roast, that blasts into your mouth with a full chocolaty hazelnut flavor. Good and very drinkable beer!

Jul 8, 2008 pours dark brown. scent is weak, but consists of nuts and roast. taste is very nutty and takes over the taste. finishes quick. I might purchase this again.

Jul 8, 2008 Pour is dark brown with not much aroma at all. What little aroma there is is of light fruit and malt. The flavor was quite the opposite with a very strong up front flavor of hazelnut. also noticed some slight chocolate notes in the middle finishing with a dry nutty finish as well as a slight hop character. Good brew. May buy again.

Jul 4, 2008 Pours a dark hazelnut brown . The nose has notes of coffee and hazelnuts. Comes across the palate with hints of hazelnut and coffee, with subtle chocolate finish. Great semi sweet winter ale.
