Lots of little dark flecks of yeast I presume. I don’t pick up on the honey taste so much. Its smooth drinking ale. Not much else to speak of, however. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 6, 2002 I have had this beer before and it was sweet and creamy, as said in description, however, this time I was definitely not that impressed. It was overhopped, wait did I just say that, I did, never thought I would say that. Anyways, it was alright, but definitely not Rogue’s best. As I let it warm up, I can taste the cream and honey more, and it balances into what it seems like it should be. Orangish in color with a lack of a good head. All in all, not a bad beer, but not great by any means. jazz88 (2239), San Francisco, California, USA

So far, I had been fairly pleased with Rogue’s offering, however, this was far too hoppy for me. There were no real discernable elements of honey or cream. A nice hoppy pale ale, but not the best cream ale. delacerveza (157), Florida, USA

strange smell--anyone ever smell that weird musty copperhead den odor when out hiking? that was what this reminded me of. clear amber, bubbly head which dissapated pretty quickly.
as for flavor: no honey, no cream--can taste the hops though.
won’t buy this again. Nate (2569), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2002 Some hops and a bit sweet aroma. Good smell of honey but a bit metallic and kind of weak overall. Very small head on golden-orange. Crisp, lots of bittering hops. A little sweet with a taste of honey. Clean bitter finish. Pretty good taste, but lack of head and weak aroma brought score down. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2002 The hops tend to overwhelm the honey flavor, but still an outstanding ale. Appearance is orange, thick and creamy with a fresh grassy aroma. Finish leans to the bitter side.
