This beer was not my favorite, I have come to expect the best from Rogue. I don’t know if it was the style or the beer itself that I wasn’t to keen on. It pours a yellow color not much hop aroma not much malt lavor taste is a bit soapy with a strange little twang I can only assume is from the juniper. Dry and crisp, there is a curious little numbness that occurs around the inside of the mouth starts mostly in the cheeks and travels slightly throughout, I guess it must be due to the juniper, resembling slightly the astringent character of a dry gin. I would reccomend trying this beer as it is different but more just to try probably wouldn’t have it again.

Dec 24, 2009 Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: This beer pours a hazy lustrous golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Grassy hops and juniper berries in the nose. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, malt and faint juniper. The finish is moderately hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

Dec 20, 2009 Bottle sample as an intermission beer at Dogbrick’s Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09. Hazy gold pour with a medium white head. Super piney aroma with sweet malt mixed in. Piney hop flavor with a bit of malt and a dry finish.

Dec 20, 2009 650 ml bottle. Pours an off gold color with a clingy, thin, white head that fades fast. Taste is of hops, pine, resin, juniper berries, malt and some caramel. Dry finish. Similar aroma. Nice slick body. Smooth and easy to drink. Worth picking up regulary.

Dec 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with a fluffy white head that diminishes fairly quickly to surface cover. Hoppy aroma has notes of caramel, pine, pepper and citrus. Juniper is a little more noticeable in the flavour, subtle as it is, blending nicely with the fruity hops. Medium bodied with reasonably high carbonation and a long, dry, slightly spicy finish. Really nice APA, very good use of the juniper, but I still couldn’t drink a lot of this in one sitting.

Dec 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours clear golden with a stable off-white head that slowly collapsed. Aroma and flavour of berries and fruity hops. Medium bodied and decent carbonation. Dry and bitter in the finish. The juniper tends to linger in the background but it’s a pretty tasty APA regardless.

Dec 3, 2009 22 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy straw-golden color with a moderate head. Good head retention and lacing. Hoppy aroma with sweet woody notes, juniper and nuts. Taste is strong juniper with some leafy hop notes, tea, caramel and light toastiness. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

Nov 30, 2009 Bottle, bought @ Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam.
Pours hazy golden with a nice, small, creamy, white head. Fine lacing. Soft aroma, light juniper, crisp malts and grassy hops. Medium carbonation, good dry mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, light herbal (juniper), sweet maltiness. Good dry bitterness in the finish.

Nov 22, 2009 Sample at Issaquah Brewhouse. Bright golden pour, thin to no head. The aroma here is light pale malts, a hint of sweetness, and some fruity juniper. Pale malts, bread, sweet undertones, and a lingering fruity juniper notes and a little sweetness. Light and drinkable with a pleasant use of juniper.
