On tap at Hashigo Zake. Pours slightly hazy golden, white head. Fruity nose, kinda lager-ish. Interesing fruitish flavour, crisp, refreshing. Full body. Bitterness is forefront, lasting into the finish with the juniperness.

Pours a translucent orange with a moderate, fluffy white head. Aroma is a little fruity and berryish with a little bit of a bready, cereal aroma too. Flavor is similar, with the juniper showing through a bit more. Rather watery on the palate. I like the concept of this, but it’s just not a great pale ale.

Tap at Mellow Mushroom. Not bad. Nose was more faint than I was expecting - also more malty. Flavor was quite clean though not hoppy at all. Very slightly medicinal owing to the juniper.

(Bottled, 0.65l) Clear, deep golden with a medium, firm head. Citrusy-fruity aroma with berries and juniper clearly making an impact. Flavor is dry and moderately bitter with resiny hops and junipery berriness. Medium body, slightly foamy carbonation, maybe not as refreshing as it could be. Still a pleasant session ale with the juniper bringing in some character.

Sample at the Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09: This beer pours a hazy lustrous golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Grassy hops and juniper berries in the nose. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, malt and faint juniper. The finish is moderately hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle sample as an intermission beer at Dogbrick’s Eurostash II tasting on 12/12/09. Hazy gold pour with a medium white head. Super piney aroma with sweet malt mixed in. Piney hop flavor with a bit of malt and a dry finish.

650 ml bottle. Pours an off gold color with a clingy, thin, white head that fades fast. Taste is of hops, pine, resin, juniper berries, malt and some caramel. Dry finish. Similar aroma. Nice slick body. Smooth and easy to drink. Worth picking up regulary.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden orange with a fluffy white head that diminishes fairly quickly to surface cover. Hoppy aroma has notes of caramel, pine, pepper and citrus. Juniper is a little more noticeable in the flavour, subtle as it is, blending nicely with the fruity hops. Medium bodied with reasonably high carbonation and a long, dry, slightly spicy finish. Really nice APA, very good use of the juniper, but I still couldn’t drink a lot of this in one sitting.
