Very dark brown pour with substantial tan head. Nose is chocolate and coffee. Flavor is nicely balanced notes of chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, roasted malt, burnt grain, and touches of bitterness in the finish. Excellent beer.

Thin dark brown opaque pour with a thick fluffy light tan head. Roasty aroma with heavy coffee notes. Sweet with lots of roast with choclate and coffee notes. Good easy to drink porter.

Bottle, The Cave, Glasgow. Enjoyed a few of these at the trailer park during the British Open , Turnberry 2009. Poured a super dak brown colour, near enough black, with a dissipating smallish tan head. Dark chocolate, malt and coffee aroma. Slid down nice n’smooth. Good level of roastiness in the flavour which was surprisingly well balanced and displayed similar characteristics to the aroma.. Hops revealed themselves in the finish which was a tad dry. This worked well and I would definitely have this again.

Blind tasting - Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma is toffee and slightly toasted malt, brown sugar. Taste is smooth malt with not much else. A little bitter coffee on the finish, as well as an off metallic taste. It’s smooth and light-bodied, but this was pretty disappointing.

12 oz bottle from a trade with scrizzz. pours dark brown with a small tan head. roasted malt aroma, some nut, along with minimal hopping. the flavour is a little thin but along the same line as the aroma. no huge promlems except a lack of depth. id have it again in a pinch.

Standard-looking porter. Thin tan head, dark body Light coffee smell, not overpowering. The coffee flavor definitely doesn’t overpower the beer. Very, very tasty. Actually quite complex tasting, when I was expecting a rush of simpler mocha flavor. Mouthfeel is normal, not too fizzy. Quality beer - will buy again for sure.
