| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Bottle, The Cave, Glasgow. Enjoyed a few of these at the trailer park during the British Open , Turnberry 2009. Poured a super dak brown colour, near enough black, with a dissipating smallish tan head. Dark chocolate, malt and coffee aroma. Slid down nice n’smooth. Good level of roastiness in the flavour which was surprisingly well balanced and displayed similar characteristics to the aroma.. Hops revealed themselves in the finish which was a tad dry. This worked well and I would definitely have this again. drseusszb200 (218), Florida, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2009 Blind tasting - Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma is toffee and slightly toasted malt, brown sugar. Taste is smooth malt with not much else. A little bitter coffee on the finish, as well as an off metallic taste. It’s smooth and light-bodied, but this was pretty disappointing. matt7215 (1000), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Standard-looking porter. Thin tan head, dark body Light coffee smell, not overpowering. The coffee flavor definitely doesn’t overpower the beer. Very, very tasty. Actually quite complex tasting, when I was expecting a rush of simpler mocha flavor. Mouthfeel is normal, not too fizzy. Quality beer - will buy again for sure.
