12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Medium light tan head that really hangs on. Aroma of malt, nothing surprising there. Nicely balanced flavors, pleasant carbonation. Dark roast coffee with a touch of bittersweet chocolate. Overall one of the best tasting porters I’ve had.

Bottle (650ml). Poured black with a good sized, tanned, frothy, head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of toasted malts, with full cream milk chocolates, coco, black coffee, toast and roasted hazelnuts. Strong notes of black coffee in the flavor was a decent level of earthy hop bitterness, bitter dark chocolate, a pleasant milky/lactic/sour notes and hints of leather and nuts towards the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, chewy texture and a long dry finish.

Pours dark brown with a thin light brown head. Smells of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Tastes nutty and sweet with some bitter chocolate and coffee hints emerging as the beer warms.

Nose of chocolate and coffee and some nuttiness. Rich chocolate and bitter coffee in the mouth. Seems to be a bit two dimensional, choc and coffee.Finishes a little thin and lacks some oomph to really make it a great beer

ALL OF MY EXPERIENCES WITH ROUGE HAVE BEEN GOOD THIS ONE IS VERY DARK AND HAS A FOAMY HEAD VERY FLAVORFUL WITH HINTS OF SMOKEY COFFEE HOWEVER IT IS QUITE BITTER FOR MY LIKINGS AND AROMA IS NOT AS PLESANT AS OTHER DARK BREWS BUT STILL MUCH BETTER THAN AN AVERAGE BREW DEFINETLY RECOMENDED TO TRY

Wow, this is Rogue, it tastes of an outstanding ale yeast strain. Good aroma of chocolate grain and hint sour. Taste solid malty tones of toffee chocolate vanilla liquorice and coffee, with some roasty/husky qualities - and a beautiful porter sour note! Honest British influence. Really nice feel with a seam of dry hops and light milky sour. This is exactly how real porters play out the quenching dry/sour against the malt sugars. Semi-dense dark brown color with gold-brown highlights, goldy tan brown cap.

Pours black with a robust tan head. Aromas are of dark fruit, some chocolate, and a bit of medicine. Taste echos the aroma quite a bit with notes of coffee, tobacco, some dirt, and a splash of vanilla. Nice smooth mouthfeel, a little creamy. Good.

22 oz bottle from Wilmer Liquors (New Lenox, IL). Pours a nice dark brown, some haze, ruby and lighter edges with small brownish head that dissipates to a film, laces a bit. Aromas are sweet maltiness, a touch of coffee and chocolate, caramel, diacetyl is pretty evident and a bit of a distraction. Some roast, creamy sweetness. Initial is roasty, dark roasty malts, ash, coffee, and dark chocolate. A little thin in body, some butterscotch and caramel initially. Finishes with decent bitterness, roast, and a bit of ash. Thin, with some mocha and coffee lingering on the palate. Ok, the nose throws me off.
