Bottle from De Bierkoning, 5.3% ABV. Deep dark brown to black colour, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, a hint of sourness, hops. All in all somewhat similar to a czech dunkel. Flavour is chocolate, roasted malts, a little sourness, with a nice moccha bitter finish. Medium bodied. Gets better with every sip.

First you’ll notice a head that is beautifully brown. The smell comes off slowly and light- hints of dark German chocolate. The taste is a violent induction of bitter chocolate melded with bitter hops, fun but not my style. Malts are there, I can tell, but I can’t taste their thickness or warmth. The more of this beer that you drink, the more of it’s chocolate and coffee you’ll notice.

Bottle. Pours a black color, clear, with an off-white, frothy head. Lacing is excellent. Aromas of chocolate, malts, and a bit of wine. Creamy texture and a nice carbonation for a great mouthfeel. Tastes of chocolate and a bit of malts, but more desert than anything else. Good beer.

Thanks to abcfan for this. Enjoyed this a lot. Nice pour with a perfect head. Nice malty character with low hop bitterness. Didnt really notice the mocha part of it. Very nice example of a porter. Cheers

12 oz bottle. Blackish-brown color, low tan head. Chocolaty aroma. Outrageous chocolate flavor -- incredibly smooth, with well-balanced bitterness -- and some roasted malts in the dry finish. Full body, medium-high carbonation. Very nice.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dense brown with a thick foamy tan head. Smells like sweet grains and alcohol. Very little in the way of smelling anything like coffee or mocha or roasted for that matter. Tastes like coffe at first, fading off to a sweet, roasty malt. Some bitter from the hops in the aftertaste. Tastes medicinal. Heavy amounts of lacing. Not too bad, but not worth the $10.00 I paid for a 6 pack..

Medium coffee on the nose. A deep brown pour with just a hint of head and lace. Coffee and light chocolate precede a pretty nice bitter finish. A bit foamy and a tad thin. A finishing taste that is just a hint of sweet and another nice little flavor that lays on the tongue but I cant identify

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a 2 finger light tan head and decent lacing. Nose is mocha, roasted malts and light coffee. Taste is black coffee, hops, burnt malt and cocoa. Lighter mouth feel than expected, but I enjoyed this a lot.
