Nice flavors of chocolate, coffee, and nuts. Decent hoppines/bitterness especially for a porter. Pours with a sizable white head that last a decent amount of time. Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA

I sampled this and then made a beer float with organic vanilla ice cream which was worth the wasted beer. Chocolate and coffee astringency. NIce nose and flavor. Well made brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 6, 2008 (Bottle). Aptly named. Aroma has a mocha chocolate sweetness. Color is near black, with a thick light tan head. Flavor is mostly bittersweet chocolate with a distinct tobacco finish. Pretty good porter. scotch4281 (39), Hollywood, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Every aftertaste immediately reminds me of having just smoked a cigar. To me it has that kind of flavor, which is what they consider their mocha. Its really not a bad beer, just not the best Rogue variety that I’ve had. It has good color and poured well. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Poured from bottle a murky dark-brown/black with a large creamy brown and tan head lacing nicely as it recedes. Aroma is soft with powdery chocolate, roast grain, and light malt sweetness. The flavor is bittersweet chocolate with roasted coffee and grains together with a very light caramel sweetness. The palate has a powdery bitterness that carries through entire taste with just a touch of sweet and a good malt presence. Overall good, not one of my favorite porters, seems more stout-like to me with a lot of dryness to it. Edgekrusher (83), , Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Deep coffee and chocolate flavors...lighly hopped and an undeniable sweetness that curls in the foretaste. Although this is not my favorite style of brew, it was pretty enjoyable nonetheless. carboloader (327), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2008 From bottle. Pours opaque with tall, rich, caramel colored head with lots of lacing and foam. Delicious coffee roast. Not as fruity as some porters that I prefer. Carbonation bite fades into a mildly bitter finish. I find this to be OK, but not spectacular. I prefer more fruity hops in my porter. Still a solid brew though. Bragesnak (2354), Aarhus, Denmark
