| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2008 Pour is not nearly as dark as I thought it would be. Aroma of light chocolate, caramel, and malt. Flavor has a bit more toasted character but I don’t taste much coffee until the late finish and there’s only a little. Well blended brew. Nothing exceptional but still good. Easy drinker. May buy again. jjuf1853 (482), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA

Aroma is pure chocolate and roasted malts. Very nice flavor. I enjoyed the bitterness in the finish and the solid aftertaste. elihapa (1072), Honolulu, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 27, 2008 3/27/08 notes: big bottle. Pours dark brown-black with small tan head. Typical porter pour. Aroma features dark chocolate, dates, dark malts, and roasty notes. Flavor that first hits your mouth is a tasty semisweet dark chocolate with touches of dates and other dark fruit. Finish had nice roasted flavors as similar hop flavors that are present in Rogue’s American Amber. Loved the fact that it didn’t sweeten out at end, really tasted like a well-made, traditional porter in this sense. Body is a tad on the light side, and the carbonation seems a little much for a “mature” porter, but still quite a good beer. Would buy again at $5.
