This is my 100th rating! (yippee!)

I do love a good porter, and this one does not disappoint. Pitch black with a medium head. Smells of chocolate and caramel and coffee. Tastes about the same as it smells, although I can taste some hops in there somewhere. The chocolate is very nice, and the coffee flavor is ok too. This is somewhere between a medium and full bodied beer. Goes down nice and smooth, and a bit airy. Pillowy almost. I’m glad I tried this one.

Dark pour with a nice almost two finger head. Not the best initial aroma but the taste is magnificent. Maybe a bit watery at first and then some intense coffee and a little hops. A sort of lingering aftertaste ensues but it is not unpleasant. Very smooth and relaxing not overpowering whatsoever. But I’m missing the actual mocha flavor. This is easier to drink than a lot of other porters but is not my favorite by a long shot.

Not the jet black of imperials (you can actually see into this beer), but rather, dark, dark brown. An off-white head with moderate lacing follows. First scents were dominated by sweet chocolate, but within minutes, coffee roasts dominated. Some bitterness in the taste, which helps to offset the dominant roast flavor. As it warms, the roasts become less dominant, which makes the beer more enjoyable, and the end tastes are a little salty. It’s very drinkable in its simplicity.

650ml Bottle: Been holding this one for a bit, waiting for the right time. Today was that time. Pours deep brown, almost black, great - but short-lived - tan head. Aroma is very complex and they’ve gone a great job with it; lots of sweet, chocolately malts, molasses, prunes, brown sugar, raisins, and roasted coffee. Flavour is just as complex and so nice! You get those roasty chocolate malts right off the bat, balanced with the brown sugar notes, some grass, and into a surprising hop hit. Very well done, gotta love these Rogue guys!

I was disappointed with this, I was expecting this to have a chocolate and enlightening taste to it but the flavor was weak at best. A little too bitter for a porter also. Pours great and does hold a mild coffee like aroma but overall I probably leave this one on the shelves for someone else to try

Poured a nice dark brown with practically no head. The smell was really faint, I had to really put some effort into catching the tones of this scent. It came off as roasted malts and hops. The taste, however, certainly made it’s presence known. The hops and roasted malt where there in force, accompanying a nice chocolate/cofee taste. Really good. Went down smooth. Very well balanced mouth feel, and a nice pleasant burnt hops after-taste. Serving type: bottle

Bottle from Total Wine and More in Roseville, CA. Poured a dark color with a small tanish head. Smelled of coffee and tasted of roasted matls and coffee. Pretty good beer, especially if you like coffee.
