Pretty good porter. nice chocolate aroma with some grassy, peppery notes. appearance - dark brown with a small off white head. flavor - alcohol bitterness followed by chocolate, coffee and smoke. finish is malty and bitter and lingers. palate - a little lighter and more watery than i like in a porter, but good nonetheless - cabonation is a little too big. would like it better if it was less fizzy and more smooth. i bet its way better on tap.

Bottle, pours a dark brown with red hues and a thin light brown head. Aroma of biscuit, yeast, cocoa, coffee, and malts. Taste is initially chocolate and malts followed by coffee and a little smoke. Mocha coffee finish; slight bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is a tad thin but creamy smooth.

Pours like black coffee with a huge tan head. Excellent aroma of sweet malty coffee with a little bittersweet chocolate. Taste follows suit with a sweet, malty chocolate, followed by a medium espresso body that fades smoothly like light cream.

Small head pours to aromas of chocolate, coffee and molasses. Flavors mirror the aroma. Nice beer, mouthfeel might be a tad thin, but very very good.

Not much head when I poured this out of the bottle (i love the light blue color on this Rogue bottle.) Fairly good porter. Plenty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a slight smell of smoke. A full body taste. Strong bitter aftertaste.

Im glad I purchased this, drinking now...Poured a very nice cloudy brown with tan head with ok retention.....Seemed to have a lighter aroma then what I had expected, nice chocolate malt presence. Flavor was very nice....dark roast, chocolate roast, and some bittering hops.....full mouth feel with the advertised creamy finish. Very good!

12 oz. into a pint glass. It appears a healthy delicious black with a soft, foamy, light tan head. It has basic dark porter aromas, but with a nice hint of vanilla. The palate is somewhat watery, but overall the beer leaves a rich and smokey impression on your palate. The flavor seemed to get better as I drank it; it exhibited strong coffee and burnt malt flavors with the nose and finished with subtle but robust vanilla and caramel flavors. This beer, though not worth the 11 dollars I payed for the 6 pack, is worth trying at some point, especially if you can find it on tap.

Pours a dark black with a thin soapy head. Aroma is musty with some funky sweet chocolate. Taste is smooth and carbonated, some chocolate, and some dry roasted coffee grounds. A bit too much cardboard in the taste.
