It was shockingly thin. Some chocolate and coffee flavors, but not enough to compensate for the overall lack of body and flavor. nhorween (641), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Tap. Dark pour with a thin head. Hoppy, smoky, coffee, chocolate. Am I wowing you with my ordinary descriptors? It’s tasty. Well balanced. I’m bored of rogue mostly but this is good. KawaBomber (213), New Jersey, USA

Very sweet malty flavor w/ some nice hop backbone. Very well balanced, nice & smooth. Did I mention smooth? Yummy. elelwarren (138), SF Bay area, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 15, 2007 Pours standardly opaque with slight red undertones. Medium head sticks around. Deep pear aroma, & this aroma really makes the beer. Flavor is not overwhelmingly deep--dry, lightly bitter, with only a touch of chocolate & coffee depth at end. Aroma keeps hitting me during the length of the experience, and the combos work well--even during the slight finishing hops. Not bad. Chapel (330), Levittown, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2007 Pours dark brown. Strong chocolate aroma. Flavor is chocolate bitterness with a hint of sweetness. Could have used more chocolate and less bitterness and warming, but that is just my opinion. chrisbaar (10), Dixon, Illinois, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 14, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours dark dark brown with a thick tan cream on top that dissipates into a very nice lacing. The aroma is a of coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor tastes of chocolate and bitter dark chocolate. While this beer is less chocolaty than I expected it is still delicious nevertheless pumpmaster (484), Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA

Aroma of coffee. Taste is weird. A jumble of coffee, malt, chocolate that finishes with a bitter sour mix. Not my favorite Rogue."
