The color is black with a red glow and a fine brown head. The flavor is thin in the beginning, but then You are hit by: malt, roasted bread, chocolate, wood, and coffee bitterness. A lovely flavor except for the weak start. Papsoe (15130), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The nose has some roasted, coffeeish notes. Rather light in body with burned malts and a very dry, bitter finish. 270106 yespr (12429), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2009 12 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a creamy, rocky and slowly collapsing tan head. Aroma is smooth coffee, chocolate and light floral to fruity hoppy. Bitter and light fruity flavoured. Distinct roasted malt flavoured, chocolate and coffee herbal and slight acidic flavour swept through. Nice full malt flavoured finish with a lingering roasted note and good hops fruit and bitter flavour counterbalance. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

Brown-black. Coffee and grape aroma. Bitter, but a bit on the thin side. At least that is what I have written in my notes, but after reading others note on this I guess I should get back and re-rate it.

Re-rate 2002-10-25: Funny, I’d all forgotten this rating, but came to nearly exactly the same conclusion. Almost black with rich head. Light coffee nose. Some crystal malt profile. Rather sweet.
