Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 7, 2004 This beer has a great aroma of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. The color is black with a red glow and a fine brown head. The flavor is thin in the beginning, but then You are hit by: malt, roasted bread, chocolate, wood, and coffee bitterness. A lovely flavor except for the weak start. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 25, 2002 First rating 2002-02-25:
Brown-black. Coffee and grape aroma. Bitter, but a bit on the thin side. At least that is what I have written in my notes, but after reading others note on this I guess I should get back and re-rate it.

Re-rate 2002-10-25: Funny, I’d all forgotten this rating, but came to nearly exactly the same conclusion. Almost black with rich head. Light coffee nose. Some crystal malt profile. Rather sweet.
Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 29, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Almost opaque with just a faint, reddish hue and a small, beige head. The nose has some roasted, coffeeish notes. Rather light in body with burned malts and a very dry, bitter finish. 270106 Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 26, 2006 Very dark brown colour. Full rich character is chocolatey, a bit nutty. Hop bitterness is moderate, which I find appetizing in a porter. Very full, smooth body. Goes down reaaaaallly easy. Great stuff, an old favourite. joergen (6240), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 6, 2005 Bottled.
Clear brown coloured with a medium sized beige head.
