Golden colored topped with a thick foamy off white head and lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is quite grassy and malty with only a touch of hops and perhaps some hay notes as well. The flavor starts with some rich french pilsner malts then turns fruity, hoppy and sour. Sour aftertaste that sits on the tongue. More of a malt presence than I expected. Better as it warms. Definitely a good beer but something was just a tad off. Way too expensive but I guess that’s partly because of the bottle. Pwn3d (1125), Manhattan, New York, USA

Pour is hued and almost hazy yellow gold. Taste is wonderfully strong.. generous amounts of hops, florals, dry malt, and delicious alcohol. Amazing how bold and rich it is for only 4 ingredients. Reminds me of Pilsner Urquell on steroids. Worth buying again, but I wish it wasn’t so pricey. dyetube (419), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2008 this beer pours a hazy yellow with a medium white head. I thought this was well crafted for an imperial pilsmer. Really captures a pilsner doubled. Nice hoppiness and not too sweet. The finish is dry which really compliments this brew well. Go and grab one! You’ll be glad you did! Cheers! Trev (895), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

Glad I tried it though.
Poured a cloudy golden orange with a nice thick head. Orange peel and clove coming though in the aroma with a nice hoppy flavour and a dry malt. I would probably love this on tap, top quality pilsner for me. Snojerk321 (2024), San Diego, California, USA

At first pour there was very good color (a mostly clear, bright golden yellow). A big, white billowing head with great lacing. Aromas of Pilsner malt and hops. the flavor started of very strange, chemical on the back of the tongue. As the brew warmed it became much more enjoyable. Who knows, I might have gotten an old bottle. ksurkin (411), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

Pale orange-straw color, slight bit cloudy with small head that does some lacing.
Sweet light Pils malt, floral bouquet with a bit of grassy hops and some graininess.
Initial grainy Pils malt flavor builds to a bit of sweetness before the bitter floral hop bite comes to clean the palate.
Moderate/medium mouthfeel, soft yet substantial. Pretty good for a Double Pils, but still not that drinkable. Blom (514), Odense, Denmark

The bottle is quite a piece of artwork in itself. Hazy golden with a low head. Grassy aroma along with some sweet malts. The flavour starts out like biscuits, pacman yeast and caramel, but then the hops starts kicking in aggressively and makes it a bitter finish. I do not find any resemblance to the lager-tradition.
