Very nice taste, a welcome change from the IPA’s that I’ve been drinking lately. A sort of spicy hoppiness. A bit fizzy in the mouth, but goes down smooth with a nice aftertaste. Very good, well-balanced. Makes me feel like an Iron Chef. daknole (3022), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Bomber...poured a deep, golden yellow w/ a mostly diminishing, fluffy, white head. Great nose w/ hints of grass, citrus, sweet fruits. Tastes of bitter hops, a little apple, earthiness, and some florals. I love the nice hop bite complemented by the awesome bone dry finish. I could definitely see this paired w/ some California rolls. Excellent! JCB (1791), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 9, 2008 On tap many, many times at Tyler’s, Durham. This is the kind of beer that Rogue does really well, in my opinion. They’ve obviouslyl got a signature brewing style - big and hop-forward, usually with a nice chewy body - which lends itself well to certain kinds of beers, including this one. To me, what always makes this beer is the dry taste - not candied or too buttery like some versions - which complements the generous malting. Hallertau in here? Maybe, although there’s certainly some floral stuff happening along with the more biting German hops. Very smooth drinker, though, which balances the whole thing out well. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Bottle from Trenton Takeout. Ok first off its a very cool looking bottle. Hazy golden pour with a definite grassy/hoppy aroma that’s not an offensive punch. Strong dominant hoppy taste with a dry finish and some fruit. It is blended really good and is damn good beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Hazy amber with a deceny white head. Nice spicy herbal, grain bread malt aroma. Smooth, medium bodied with a flavor that mirrors the smell, bready cracker malts with spicy, herbal lager flavors. Pretty good beer here. 5177 natedoggkc (164), Lenexa, Kansas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Pours gold/orange with a great fluffy head that laces nicely. Aroma is floral and citrus that just smells delicious. A very nice hop flavor that has enough malt in there to give it some sweetness to offset the hops a little. A great beer. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA
