GMUcrew7 (152), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 14, 2008 Pours an absolutely beautiful rusty red with a full, fast dissipating cream colored head. Aroma is mostly the sprucy hops. The flavor is great and has a very nice balance but the lack of body really detracts from the overall enjoyment of the beer and leaves you wanting a little more.
changeup45 (525), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 Amber color with a thick off-white head, some retention, and pretty good lacing. Caramel malty and grainy flavor mixed with a nice dose of floral hopping make for a good tasting and well balanced beer. Finishes a little dry. Really solid. Gregis (848), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City, IA. Pours a dark, hazy reddish-bronze with a creamy beige head that leaves behind fractal-like lacing. The nose is a nice blend of bready and caramel malt backed by fairly solid notes of fruity and evergreen hops. Medium-bodied and creamy slick with a lightly resinous and mildly bitter finish. The flavor follows the nose with a solid, sweet, bready malt front and a hit of resinous, piny hops lingering into the aftertaste. This is another solid amber from Rogue. ruggedman (415), Portland, Maine, USA Jul 14, 2008 Dry hopping does a beer good. This beer had the best Aroma i can fathom. It’s like sticking your head into a bin of Centennials! Flavor was spot on too with that hop wallop as well. Love it. GreenWall (28), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 13, 2008 Unclear garnet body, with a moussy amber head that reduces to a lingering film with coarse lacing. Aroma is big hops. Piney, resiny, grapefruit, with some earthy/woody undertones. The hops are underlined by some dark fruit from crystal malt. Flavour is sweet, again heavy American hop, dry hop crispness, but not overly bitter. Malt comes through at the end, some nutty Munich notes, and a nice hit of berry from the crystal. Mouthfeel is nice and full, lightened by prickly carbonation. Perfectly balanced, wonderful, and refreshingly innovative. I’m starting to think Rogue bombers might be worth their exorbitant price out here. SaintMatty (330), Tallinn, Estonia Jul 10, 2008 Bottle (Õllesummer 2008, Tallinn) - Copper brown/red with a bit of a haze. Spicy malt and hop aroma with some grapefruit and milk chocolate. Hoppy and appealing taste which is biscuity and features grapefruit and some chocolate again. A nice bitterness.
