It was listed as "Santa's Dry Hopped Red Ale". I'm assuming this is the same stuff. Deep red in color, with an almond tan head. Aroma is very hoppy and manly, almost surly. Not much in the way of malt, as far as I can tell in the smoky pub. Flavor is hoppy, with a nice roasty malt balance. Semi sweet, with a grassy herbal hoppiness. Body is medium to full, with moderate carbonation. I wasn't disappointed.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2009 Nice beer overall. the beer is more like a Plae Ale than an Amber, imho. Anyway, the aroma is hoppy, piney and citrus, some caramel. The flavor very closely follows, with the hops in the lead. The appearance is a nice amber color, white head, slightly hazy. Mouthfeel is straight up the middle medium body, average carbonation. Citrus hop finish. Decent all around. ALCOHOLNIZM (66), WARWICK, USA

THIS IS A CLOUDY REDISH COPPER ALE WITH A HOPPY BITTER TASTE AND AROMA. NOT BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER BY ITS FLAVOR ITS A PRETTY STANDARD MICRO BREWED HOPPY ALE, HOWEVER IT DRINKS QUITE EASY AND IS ENJOYABLE, ITS ALSO A GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT FOR ANY BEER HEAD.. dutch23mp (169), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 25, 2009 12 oz bottle Not bad but not outstanding an ale with a hint of spices pours a nice red with small head. A bit on the hoppy side with a sharp hit on the palate. The finish is better then the start and mellows out. darn1207 (603), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2009 I thought I’d tried this before, but doubt that now. It wasn’t like anything I remember from Rogue. 12oz bottle from Fermentation Lounge. From my somewhat limited notes: Tea vibe. Nice light to medium texture. Not crazy complex but unique and very drinkable (especially if you like tea). Would definitely try again and update rating. scooterbub (384), Lander, Wyoming, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 24, 2009 650 ml bottle. Pours an unclear copper color with a thin tan head. Taste is of malt, caramel, pine, hops and fruit. Strong dry and slightly bitter finish. Similar aroma. Thin, slightly slick body. The finish makes it a little hard to drink. Good, but not worth picking up again. puboflyons (618), New Hampshire, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2009 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle - 2009 batch. It pours a mahogany brown color with nice clarity but little head. The aroma has a nice dose of floral hops, caramel and pine. The mouthfeel is of decent quality in the medium to heavy range. Bitter hops lead the advance on the taste with a touch of sweetness in the end. It has a lot of the qualities of a nice IPA. nate2g (1139), Brisbane, Australia

A pleasant aroma and flavour of toffee, caramel, spicy and fruity hops. Good bitterness in mouthfeel. Sweet malty finish with one last kick of hops. Very nice. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 A very American take on a Christmas ale - more Christmas tree than Xmas pud but good drinking, all the same. Bronze with a solid, lasting head. Sticky aroma of liquid toffees and dark fruits. Creamy palate. Very sweet and alcoholic in the mouth, with a big lick of spruce bitterness in the swallow. Toffee malt backbone. (RateBeer Sydney Xmas 2009 gathering under the harbour bridge. Bottle courtesy of Nate26 - thanks buddy)
