| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Pours an opaque black with a dark tan head. Strong roasted aroma with solid malt backing. Nice hop aroma. Hopped with Cascades, although this isn’t readily apparent. Some yeast in the nose although quite subdued. Strong roast flavor with underlying dark chocolate notes. Full hop bitterness and moderate flavor. Silky mouthfeel. Full body. Very creamy. One of my favorite stouts. dutch23mp (170), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Had this beauty on tap. Very smooth and tasty hints of coffee perhaps taffy. the small cream head goes quickly but this dark blend finishes even better then the start. Partial to this style of beer. beergod (103), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 16, 2009 This stout pours black in color with a nice tan great fluffy head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee on the nose. Full bodied, smoky, and rich. I imagine this would be great with a rich chocolate dessert, or even with a scoop of old fashioned vanilla ice cream in it. Block (379), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA
