22oz. bomber. Pours a dark black with a tan frothy head, leaving a nice bit of lacing. Aroma is earthy with coffee and chocolate. Taste is the same...also noted caramel and hops with some smokey malt as well. Medium mouthfeel with a nice bit of coffee and hops in the finish. Not my favorite, but a nice stout just the same.

Pitch Black appearance with brown semi- thick top. Sharp smells of smokey malts, choco, nuts, raisons, and coffee. Tastes of DARK COFFEE, choco and truffles. Bitter conclusion. Long lasting and smooth. Not as creamy as Old Rasputin. Watered down texture but not on taste.

I am a big fan of Rogue beers and this, being the first of their beers that I ever tasted, explains why. Deep black pour, with a heavy nose of coffee and caramel. Extremely creamy mouthfeel and a well balanced taste that inches a little more to the sweet side. This is an excellent example of what a stout should be.

Bottle. Pours black with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Very good.

22oz - Aroma of dank roasted malts, peat, chocolate and some hops. Pours black with a big brown head and good lacing. Flavor is very roasty with a strong cacao finish and some bitter hops. Palate is dry and tart. A very tasty classic stout.
