Aroma is earthy with coffee and chocolate. Taste is the same...also noted caramel and hops with some smokey malt as well. Medium mouthfeel with a nice bit of coffee and hops in the finish. Not my favorite, but a nice stout just the same. Jblauvs (600), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 19, 2009 I am a big fan of Rogue beers and this, being the first of their beers that I ever tasted, explains why. Deep black pour, with a heavy nose of coffee and caramel. Extremely creamy mouthfeel and a well balanced taste that inches a little more to the sweet side. This is an excellent example of what a stout should be. rocbyter (923), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
