Pours a rich ebony with a creamy medium tan head that seems to fade a little too quickly. Smells flowery and the hops are prominent. Extremely hoppy...I wish it had a bit more maltiness to balance it out. Ends with a bitter aftertaste, but a good one.

This Shakespeare Stout is a beer that I think William Shakespeare himself would be proud to drink. It pours a nice, dark color with a fairly big tan head. The aroma and taste are of coffee and caramel with some molasses. For all the great flavors in there, it’s not overly sweet, This one, if I remember correctly, was a bit more fizzy than usual. Overall, an excellent beer that I highly recommend everyone to have at least once. gte620v (29), Georgia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 31, 2008 22 oz. bomber. Pours a thick, black/brown color with a foamy, tan head, and nice lacing. The aroma offers dark, bakers chocolate, a touch of coffee, roasted, sweet malt, and a bit of molasses notes. Some smoke, and a hint of vanilla follow these into the flavor. Full bodied, with a nice, creamy texture and hop bitterness throughout, but particularly in the finish. I like! popery (195), San Francisco, California, USA

Dark, rich and thick without a hint of stickiness. Good hop bite at the end. One of the best normal stouts I have ever tasted. FarFromHome (84), Philadelphia, Alabama, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2008 On tap at the Sanctuary. Light and airy aroma, with roasted coffee bean cream, and minor presence of hops which is nice in a stout. It came with a about a half inch of dark cream, pretty nice lacing, and dark cocoa color. Flavor has a lot of roasted malts, toast and coffee, and a very pleasant grassy bitter in that makes the finish quite nice. A good, solid stout with a little extra that help make it stand out just a bit more than others.
