(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 20 Sep 2008) Black colour with firm, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with lots of dark chocolate and notes of dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, coffee, dark rye bread and a dry cocoa bitterness in the finish. Medium to full body. Smooth, mellow mouthfeel. Lovely balance. Great beer!

Pours opaque black with thick creamy tan head. Aromas of malt, chocolate and coffee. Tastes of chocolate malt, coffee, oats with a chocolate and flowery hops finish . Thick, full mouthfeel. This is one of the very best stouts.

Crushed with Jakebra. Solid nose. A little watery, but some awesome coffee and maybe, possibly, unprobably some dark chocolate and finishes very nice.

what an amazing roasty aroma!!! So much roasted malt, roasted coffee, semi burnt chocolate, and some roasted grain. FLavour is sharp and bitter, this reminds me of a full bodied oatmeal stout. Loads of roasted malt, and roasted grain with a great hop bite, and nuance. Wow, incredible stout!

Pours very dark with a medium head. Roast, coffee, chocolate with a tad bit of hops. A good stout. Would like to rate again when I have more time!

Bottle. Poured an opaque dark brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma is sweet and chocolatey. Roast and charred malt on the tongue with hints of richer smoke. The cascade is evident, particularly in the finish where it washes over the more prounounced burnt toast character of the toasted malts. Medium bodied, well carbonated with a dry lingering aftertaste.

Tan head that settles quickly. Smells of roasted coffee and sweet malt. Taste is bitter but sweet with coffee/dark chocolate but not overdone. Aftertaste is pleasant hops. This is a nice beer.
