Mar 22, 2008 Updated: Apr 20, 200822 oz bomber. Deep, black oily apperance and a creamy brown head. Just the right creaminess on the palate. Roasty with a bit of hop character and hints of chocolate and coffee. Nice warming finish. Much more complex and satisfying than your average guiness.

Mar 22, 2008 poured a very dark rich color of brown with a billowy cavernous tan head that leaves some pillow like lacing on the glass. huge chocolate and malt aromas with piney hops hints in the back... very interesting. there’s a lot going on in the flavor... chocolate, light molasses, caramel, coffee, nuts, light pine hoppy bitterness and near ashy maltiness. nice dry finish leads to and astringent coffee like aftertaste. medium body is rather watery when cold. as it warms, the texture turns creamy and soft...

Mar 21, 2008 Bottle. Black with tan heavily laced head. Strong nut malt aroma with hops following up. Nicely roast taste with a hint of licorice. Nice body. Nice stout.

Mar 20, 2008 this beer pours black with a large tan head leaving a little lacing down the sides. The aroma is roasted chocolate and malt. the flavors are pretty much the same. Not a lot of carbonation which I like in a stout. This beer pours robust, smooth and very good tasting. Rogue did a good job on this one! Cheers!

Mar 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours almost black with a lasting tan head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt and coffee notes. Medium body, very smooth. Flavor is sweet and roasted malt, coffee and light chocolate notes, with noticeable hops underneath it all. Very well balanced. I like that this isn’t completely over the top like some I’ve had recently, just a very well made stout.
