Mar 10, 2008 650 ml bottle. Beautiful dark, dark reddish body, close to black. Small, dense beige head. Aroma is roasted malt with coffee and a hint of dry fruit. Flavor is fruity, roasted malt with coffee and mocha. Nice balanced, not to sweet and perfect dry bitter finish.

Mar 9, 2008 this stout abounds. pours beautifully black with a big ole tan head, even out of the bottle. notes of oats, roasted coffee, malt, bitter chocolate,vanilla, star anise. nice, i like.

Mar 8, 2008 I am sampling this beer while i am waiting for the wort to boil on my very first homebrew. A 1 pt 6 oz bottle purchased at Westside Discount Licquor, St. Cloud, MN. Poors black with a lovely tan head1.25 fingers hig that is just staying there. Definately smelling malt and roasted mocha. First sip. You lip passes through the head with just a lite tickel, and then, Strong chocolate malt, coffee, more chocolate and then a slightly bitter finish that leaves your mouth just dry enough to beg for the next sip. Simply exquisite!

Mar 8, 2008 Half pint at Rogue Ale House, San Francisco. Utterly black with a tan head. Good aroma of dark malts sets up a great taste of roasted malt and smokiness. There’s a hint of oatmeal in the smooth, dry finish. A good dark stout with a great roasted flavour.

Mar 6, 2008 Draft. Pours pitch black with a fluffy tan head, this pours exactly like what one expects from a stout. Espresso, caramel and a touch of chocolate on the nose. Body is surprisingly light with an awesome mouthfeel and more coffee, walnut, chocolate and the slightest notion of sour cherry. Splendid.

Mar 2, 2008 a pretty decent and robust oatmeal stout. Cascades are distinct, though the chocolate malt makes it a bit astringent. Overall, though, a very tasty and exceptional stout.

Feb 28, 2008 Pours a liquidy black. Nice head, good lacing. Head is a brown with a tint of purple. Color is completely black. Smell is strong roasted. The taste is not thick like one would think but finishes cleaner and has a good hop/malt balance. Cool that they put the exact ingredients on the side. Unique flavor that most stouts don’t have.
