Disappointed by this one. Aroma is heavy chocolate and cocoa with a bit of hops, yeast, and oak. Pour yields a large creamy brown head with excellent lacing and an extremely dark brown body. Taste is of strong coffee, but it is quite watery. Mouthfeel is watery too.

This is a stout that is an every day type of beer. Although this doesn’t possess the boldness of other stouts (Speedway Stout, Bell’s Batch 7000, Yeti Imperial Stout), it holds up well in terms of balance and quality. Visually appealing, amazing bouquet, and extremely smooth...keep this one available for a rainy day.

22 oz bottle pours an opaque black with a thick beige head. Aroma of sweet malts and chocolate. Taste is of bittersweet chocolate and roasted malt. Very smooth and easy to drink for a stout.

Draught at the Brixx in Chapel Hill. Dark, with ruby edges, medium tan head, with lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is similar, little cream, very roasty, light palate, slight roasty bitterness. Delightful beer.

From bottle : Pours a very dark brown/black, with a thin light brown head, the dissapates fairly quick, to a foamy ring. Nose is roasted and malty, some hops and a little alcohol. Taste is really good. Roasted malts, and some alcohol on the way down with a very coffee flavored aftertaste. Medium to thick in body, but has very good drinkability for a stout. Palate is creamy, very nice stout.

Poures like the color of oil with a dark frothy head that was apparent till the last sip... Chocolate and coffee with a little nip at the end, had a great chocolaty aftertaste.
