Pours black and, by the time it reached me from the bar, it had little or no head. Slight aroma of roasted hops and chocolate. Again, flavours of roasted chocolate malts. Finishes with a strong hoppy bitterness. A reasonable brew, but I had better. CelticBrew (695), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a nice, dense tan head. Intensely roasted-malty aroma with lots of salty licorice, and some espresso notes. Very roasted-malty, slightly ashy-burned, very licorice flavor with at least reasonably bitter hops. Coffee, roast, caramel, and licorice on the initial taste; A very nice roasted bitterness with some dark chocolate and malt sweetness on the aftertaste. ekstedt (2440), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Bottle (65 cl) shared with another dude at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Opaque black with a small and shortlived head. Chocolate accentuated roasted aroma with some faint cascade hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Initially very good but halfway through the glass the chocolate aroma becomes a bit cloying. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA

Bottle pours dark black, yo can’t even see through it when you hold it up to the light. A head a couple inches high, nice tightly packed bubble sin the head. Smells and tastes of coffee and chocolate. Very smooth, very smooth. Very easy drinking, I see why this one won awards! I will definetly get this one again. AWESOME! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Dark Black oily color with a beutiful disappearing brown head. Sweet smelling, coffe, chocolate, all the normal stout smells. Sweet tasting, roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, and malty flavor. Very easy to drink for a stout, almost to easy. Dry, satisfing finish, roasty stout taste lingers on the tip of the tongue. A nop notich stout. Chapel (330), Levittown, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Pours dark, dark black with a thick dark brown head. Probably one of the best pours I have seen to date. Head, sadly, vanishes rather quickly. Aroma is rather sweet and caramel with a hint of yeast. Flavor is pleasantly chocolate through the whole experience with a hint of hops at the finish to close it off a little. Flavor sticks in your mouth for quite a while. oteyj (771), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Got this at Winooski Beverage- 650ml. As soon as my friend took a sip of this he uttered "This may be my favorite beer of all time." While I may not go quite that far, I agree that this stout is absolutely delicious. Perfect hop content and malt character define the essence of this beer. Not complex, but wonderful for what it is.
