Aroma is potent with a bouquet of rich roasted barley and malts. Flavor is complex. A combination of flavorful, and bitter hops and sweet, deep, rich malt toastiness. Notes of coffee and maybe a bit of chocolate. Nice smooth mouthfeel . Good stout. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Thick and roasty with a nose of hardy malts and piny hops. Toffee, coffee, roasted malt flavor. Well crafted and superb! One of Rogue’s best beers. dsm (109), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

The taste was coffee, and roasted malt, but very smooth and subtle. The taste was much more understated than most stouts. This is an excellent brew. douglas88 (1605), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

One of my favorite stouts, with a nice brown head and a unique flavor. Malty, roasted and bitter when it needs to be, with dark chocolate notes and a delicious (sweeter) aftertaste. It has that underlying Rogue flavor that is hard to put your finger on (the Pacman yeast? the water?), and you can tell that this is a high-quality , well-balanced product. SHIG (2037), Aviano, Italy
