One of my favorite stouts, with a nice brown head and a unique flavor. Malty, roasted and bitter when it needs to be, with dark chocolate notes and a delicious (sweeter) aftertaste. It has that underlying Rogue flavor that is hard to put your finger on (the Pacman yeast? the water?), and you can tell that this is a high-quality , well-balanced product. SHIG (2037), Aviano, Italy

Very well balanced but did not have the robust flavors I was expecting. BeerBlockaid (548), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 29, 2007 Shared with a mate at European Street Jax Fl San Marco. At first, was a bit like raw leather and tasted like ass. Mellowed out a bit, and the leather was more defined, italian wools, kind of "jerkeyed meats" and chocolate and coffee notes. Above average hoppy bite that didn’t really hold its own. After about half way, and the bottle warming up, it was surprisingly pleasant. The hops broke out of their shell and the chocolate became more defined. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Gorgeous pour, thick and black with sublime head. Deserves a 5 for looks but I’m feeling conservative. Aroma of cream soda, hops, coffee. Medium body, but enough to chew on. Rich roasted malt and lingering bitterness. Filled with dark chocolate. Lovely dark roast aromas mixed with subdued citrusy hops. Great balanced dark roast taste. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA
