1pt 6oz bottle. Aroma is sweet chocolate, molases, coffee, and cream. Average sized tan head that mostly diminished and left some lacing. Abyssal black, I am quite shocked at how no light can penetrate. Sweet with chocolate, coffee, malts and bitter on the finish. Palate is medium-full bodied with a long finish. Great looking beer but I was really put off by the aroma and flavor. Too sweet and a weird aftertaste. Surprised it’s rated so high.

Black thick pour with a slightly oil look to it. Nice big foamy brown lasting head. Smell is fairly heavily hopped, with a rich roastiness in the background and a bit of dry cocoa. Taste is roasty, with medium to high carbonation, and was well hopped. Slightly overcarbonated, a bit dry, and bland, although the body was full and rich. Okay, but far from one of my favorite stouts. Just boring overall, and needed some sweetness to make the flavors pop a bit more.

On tap in Issaquah. Roasted malt aroma with a Guinness like appearance, because they introduce nitrogen when it is on tap. This is a outstanding beer. It is very creamy and the different flavor components of this beer are subtle but they are all there in balance.

Earthy aroma slightly bitter. Pours black with a tan finish. Medium bitterness, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Medium body and very slight carbonation. The finish is slightly bitter and dry. Overall a very nice stout but very pricey.

650ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a opaque motor oil black with a big brown head that fades very slowly. Aroma is spicy with anise, pepper, smoke, burnt toast and coffee. The flavor mirrors the aroma with less emphasis on the spice and more on the smoke and coffee. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and creamy. The finish is long with lots of roasted notes. Overall this is one great beer. Recommended.
