Bottle (650ml). Poured extremely dark brown (virtually black) with a dense, tanned, frothy head which lasted well. Aroma was of tropical hops with pineapple rings, ripe apricots, roasted hazelnuts, new leather and hints of carob chocolate. Flavor was somewhat similar to aroma with a moderate tropical hop bitterness with nectarines, caramel malts, toast, black coffee and a dry earthy finish with some light hop resins. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry hoppy mouthfeel, slick texture and a great length finish.

a very nice drinkable stout, creamy mouthfeel and pleasant chocolatey bitter finish. aroma is weird - cascade in a stout I something I will never really be into - but at least here it’s a lighter session stout, which means it’s not used to excess like in the rogue imperial, and you can almost pretend it’s an apa once your mouth gets used to the roast. fairly tame roast flavours make this easy to do. still, a stout that tastes like a pnw stout should. grapefruit and chocolate.

22oz bottle. Big fluffy head pours very dark. DEcent coffee taste with some bitterness on the finish. Pretty decent stout to drink while watching a crappy movie on a saturday afternoon, which is what i’m doing.

22 Oz bottle. Pours black with a thick light black head. Aroma is black cherry and chocolate. Taste is espresso with great carbonation and a crisp finish for a stout. Really super.

Smells like a coffee stout. Flavour builds, crests and then mellows nicely, a bit of alcohal taste but the next sip brings the flavour all back.

I was a bit disappointed with this, actually. it tasted like charcoal 3/4 thru the bottle. poor carbonation. burnt espresso without much complexity.

22oz. bottle. Black pour, fluffy tan head. Dark roast coffee with medium-vanilla on the nose. Smokey flavor, with a good malt body. Not a rauch bier, but reminds me of bacon without the sweetness. A very, very good stout.
