gws57 (988), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jun 29, 2005 Had this one bottled. Thick, black almost purple pour, with the darkest brown head I’ve ever seen in a beer. Very dense mouthfeel, almost oily. Coffee and chocolate notes, bitter and very drinkable. Satisfying.
Chia (18), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Aug 29, 2008 pours a 1\4 inch tan head, and is a beautiful dark non translucent color. aroma contains hints of mocha and toasted malts with metallic undertones. tastes great surprisingly the metallic taste is great with the roasty barly mocha flavors. very smooth on the palate . nqualls (185), Tennessee, USA Aug 26, 2008 I think this is a great beer, both on tap and out of the bottle. Pours a dark black with a huge tan head. Oatmeal and bitter chocolate dominate the nose, with a slight hint of coffee. Flavor is chocoffee with a bitter finish. A little light for a stout, but the flavor is excellent. If this were a little heartier, it would rank 4.6-4.8. tunit0395 (3), Gulfport, USA does not count Aug 25, 2008 Absolutley love it! This beer is the one that steeredme away from the american lager. amazing bold taste with a cream aftertaste. one of my favorites Sparky27 (516), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 25, 2008 Bomber. An aggressive pours results dark mahogany black with a 3 finer tan head. Decent lacing. Nose is oatmeal, milk chocolate and light roasted coffee. Taste is roasted malt, light chocolate and black coffee with a hoppy finish that lingers. Lighter mouth feel than I expected. Would be really good with more body. jbuzz (458), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 25, 2008 Three Cellars Tasting Milwaukee. Looks like Root Beer. Slightly watery taaste but over all a good stout.
