Commercial Description:

18 Years, 10 Thousand Brews, 1 Brewer

Big, earthy malt flavor balanced by lingering hoppiness, with hints of citrus. 7 Ingredients: Vienna, French Special Aroma and Maris Otter pale ale malts; Yakima Summit and German Saphir hops; the top-fermenting Pacman yeast; and as always free range coastal waters.

Pours a hazed honey color w/ a medium sized, English style, beachball spattered froth. Head retention is minimal w/ just a nice ring around the goblet. My second pour was actually more full, semi creamy froth. Must be because it warmed a bit. Aroma of juicy malts and a nice hopsy citrus rind. Perfect!. Meduim to full nectar w/ soft residual effers creating a creamy, lucious texture. Not as it would seem. This brew defies my preconceived educated guess. I totally expected a different brew than what I have found in this. Amazing is what I say. Its not a malt bomb, nor a caramel clogger. Its not sweet or spiced. What it is, is a marvel of 18 years of brewing. The caramel malts are cut down quickly by the chopper hops. The honey comes on but is laid to rest w/ lightning speed by the reaper hops. Every chance the malts get to show, theres a hop blade right around the corner to cut it down. Like a lime rind dipped in salt. I get all kinds of flavors. Citrus rind being dominant w/ nuances of caramel, honeycomb, apple, black cherry, leather, and earthy sea salt. The colors really show as it warms. The finish is bittered excessively w/ hopsy asprin and is the last thought on my mind. Overall: This is a great brew. Not too malty and possesing more than enough hops to replace your lawnmower. This brew will cut grass. The alcohol is well hidden. Well balanced for a hop head. What I really dig is the likeness of the English style nectar intertwined w/ an American hop profile. I highly recommend this brew. 22$ makes it hard. It does have a cool graphic on the bottle though.

This one falls into my top three favorite beers of all time. Pours a beautiful amber color. The hoppy aroma is perfect and the flavor is awesome, even though it’s hard to describe what notes I’m picking up. Also: "It’s like there’s a party in my mouth and everyone’s invited."

This beer is great. Hoppy aroma, and the taste is hoppy also but also has a hint of maltiness to help relieve the hops. I love this beer.

Nose of perfume, orange, pine & spruce, bubblegum, lilac, and resin. Pours a hazy blonde honey amber. The mostly lasting ultra-stiff off-white head leaves very good lace. The flavor is HUGE and very complex. Swirling from malty to spicy to sweet to sour to bitter to toasted, this brew pretty much covers all the bases. The citrus presence is a lovely treat. The thick & full body is soft and dry, perfect. Hat’s off to my friend Tony for giving me the "head’s up" on this brew.

Color is a beautiful brownish-golden with a hint of red, not much of a head to it. Aroma is not strong, but is promising. Flavor is nice and hoppy but also has some malty undertones and some bitterness that does not carry over muvh into the aftertaste. If you don’t mind a fair amount of bitterness, this is a drinkable and enjoyable brew, a worthy way for Rogue to celebrate an awe-inspiring milestone.
