Commercial Description:
The name “Trippel” actually stems from part of the brewing process, in which brewers use up to three times the amount of malt than a standard Belgian Trappist "Simple". This Trippel is brewed with generous amounts of Belgian sugar to give the beer a higher alcohol content, and a sinuous phenolic flavor. Definitely a sipper, this guy weighs in at 9% ABV!

On tap at Rorbachs in Rochester, NY. Poured a nice Belgian cloudy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma was clove and toothpaste. The whole time I was drinking this all I could think was toothpaste. This stuff smells just like the Tom’s natural toothpaste you can get in organic markets. Kind of took away from the beer drinking experience. Alcohol was a little harsh too.

On tap at Rohrbach’s. Small white head but decent lacing. Big citrus flavor to start, then sour and spices present. Alot going on here. The ABV was very warming and got me feeling good.

On tap at Rohrbach’s. Pretty decent I thought. Hazy yellow, some white head. Big bouquet of oranges. Also is sour. Palate is fine, multilayered, thick, taste is spicy and once again I get oranges. Pleasant surprise. What a wallop this thing packed and I guess I see why at 10.4%.

(Draught) Pours a clear yellow body with a small off-white head. Aroma of floral, perfume, and herbs. Flavor of coriander, wheat, and floral hops with a dry finish.
