Good, fresh malt, the requisite wood notes. It was the finish that set me off, too astringent. Finished more like a Scotch Ale, not what i wanted here.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2008 Rohrbach Octoberfest is a dense amber lager with a white, leathery film of a head. It has a sweet aroma, like brown sugar, along with a grassy, floral note of Willamette hops. It is medium bodied and smooth with a light, delicate finish. It is lightly sweet, resiny and wooden. It’s very fresh tasting and enjoyable. I had a second pint of this one. rob897 (62), Buffalo, New York, USA

Dark black body with a tan head, roasted aroma, roasted malt flavor, bitter, medium mouth feel. looks liek a porter, tastes like a porter. Call it a porter, not an Octoberfest. I thought he keg was marked wrog at the place I had it, an email to the brewmaster confirmed that this was their O’fest for 2007, but the will brew a more traditional beer for 2008. zach8270 (2129), Henrietta, New York, USA
