FishManLA (166), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Apr 2, 2008 I’ve tried Rolling Rock several times, including years ago before AB owned it, and every time it tasted spoiled/skunked. Assuming I’d simply had bad luck and gotten one that had gone bad in the bottle, and that there might be a drinkable beer there if you got a fresh one, I kept trying. Nope. This beer sucks. Sour aroma and taste of putrefying corn. The only salvation is that since it has very little finish it’s easy to wash the rotten corn taste out of your mouth by drinking some other beverage.
bsm80 (100), Massapequa, New York, USA Sep 6, 2008 Not a bad beer, refreshing, good for the beach. Sort of a skunk smell but refreshing flavor, pours very lite, I enjoy this from a bottle though. badlizard (1473), San Diego, California, USA Sep 6, 2008 More family reunion beer. Where’s the taste? Light yellow with a fizzy white head. Faint fruity aroma and slight banana taste. Uaru02 (7), Simpsonville, Kentucky, USA does not count Sep 5, 2008 It’s hard for me to dis Rolling Rock. I grew up drinking this stuff. However, I won’t touch it now that AB holds the reigns. I used to live 8 miles from the brewery and was proud of it. AB moved the production out of Latrobe almost immediately to somewhere in New Jersey. Without the ’local, small town brewery’ factor, it’s just another beer that I won’t be favoring. What a shame. tarheels86 (32), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Not expecting much and didn’t get much either. Funny how this is Anheuser-Busch’s premium variety but then again I think Bud Light says it is a premium beer as well. No head and not a pale lager. This is just a normal light lager made from rice like Budweiser. The only difference is the color of glass. There is a little bite. Once I felt like this beer was actually somewhat spicy from the freezing temperature and high carbonation. But in reality it tastes like stale corn flakes. Maybe some old honey rolls are in there too. Overall terrible and too expensive. Who rated this a 4.4? Probably a PA native that remembers when Rolling Rock wasn’t so piss poor. tangentrider (144), USA Aug 25, 2008 Very pale, clear beer with no head. Aroma is corn. Flavor is mostly missing. There is a touch of carbonation bite, but not much else. Finish is cereal and disappears quickly. Another "refreshing" beer--an insufficient measure. This one is off the buy list for sure.
