Bottle drank in August 2004 with the friendly brewer Mike. Deep amber coloured. Big aroma with loads of malt, fruits and hops. Complex flavour. Sweet and fruity with notes of cascade hops and especially pineapples. Bitter finish. The alcohol is well hidden. Smooth mouthfeel. Full bodied. I tasted another bottle in March 2005 which unfortunately had turned a little bit sour.

Hazy red brown colour with no head. Sweet winy malty caramel aroma and a sweet fruity light alcoholic taste. Medium to full body and a sweet to alcoholic finish.

Pours a hazy caramel color with a small head. Heavy aroma of malt, citrus and caramel with hints of stable. Very fruity flavor with malty notes. Orange and pineapple. Heavy, but hides the alcohol very well. Thanks a lot Ungstrup for sharing this 16% barley wine from Italy!!

A hazy brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramal and loads of hops. The alcohol is very well hidden behind the hops, though the mouthfeel is sticky.

Dark amber color. The malty aroma (nothing special) shows some infection. Tasting it, it’s no infected; it’s malty, and malty again, and a lot bitter; sweet nuts; too much alcoholic. Really rough!

Cloudy and deep amber. Nose was filled with sweet spices and citrus. Flavor was loaded with a zippy citrus, candi sugar, and caramel-coated apples. A little acidic at times. Sweetness was big up front, but seemed to thin out toward the finish. Malty barleywine with a tamed sweetness. Interesting stuff.
