Big aroma with loads of malt, fruits and hops. Complex flavour. Sweet and fruity with notes of cascade hops and especially pineapples. Bitter finish. The alcohol is well hidden. Smooth mouthfeel. Full bodied. I tasted another bottle in March 2005 which unfortunately had turned a little bit sour. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Dark amber color. The malty aroma (nothing special) shows some infection. Tasting it, it’s no infected; it’s malty, and malty again, and a lot bitter; sweet nuts; too much alcoholic. Really rough! jfm (1695), Holbæk, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Cloudy and deep amber. Nose was filled with sweet spices and citrus. Flavor was loaded with a zippy citrus, candi sugar, and caramel-coated apples. A little acidic at times. Sweetness was big up front, but seemed to thin out toward the finish. Malty barleywine with a tamed sweetness. Interesting stuff.
