Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is murky dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, molasses), lightly yeasty (mold), with notes of peach, sherry, alcohol, and toffee. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. A beer that seems to be more than the sum of its parts. Thanks to Nick for a sample of this rarity.

Hot malty and alcoholic aroma. Very malty palate with a sweet hoppy taste. Doesn’t taste like 16% but still strong.

This is one big Italian beer. Ruddy Brown. Pleasantly aromatic. Very lively, odd and doughy, like a pretzel covered in cinnamon and sugar with white icing on the side. Notes of plums as well. Definately an English barley wine. Strong, soft, rich and very malt accented. Notes of plums, pears, sugars, apples and cinnamon. I have another bottle that I plan on aging. I bet this will age fairly well. Thanks Michael.
