SilkTork (3941), Rochester, Kent, England May 4, 2008 JDW, Rochester. An APA with a firm dose of American hops. Pleasant sweet malt. There’s nothing special here, but it’s nicely done.
fonefan (4884), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 29, 2008 Cask (handpump) @ The Fat Cat, Sheffield, Bedfordshire England S3 8GG. Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruit, lemon. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet amd moderate to heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. (270708) Mes_and_Sim (4477), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 1, 2008 A Mes rate: gravicask at Peterborough Beer Festival. Clean gold with a thin white head and good condition. Bloody superb floral, grassy and aromatic hops on the nose giving some stunning grapefruit / citric notes over a delicate sweet malt base. The flavour is along similar line though held back just a touch by being a little too grassy and green. Huge bitter finish brings it firmly back on track leaving a drying mouthfeel. Hats off to Roosters for producing an aggressively hopped IPA. A fine bit of brewage. bobinlondon (220), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 16, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Watford during recent international beer fest. A golden coloured beer with a white head. The aroma is big on the hops with plenty of grapefruit. Again very hoppy in the taste. Almost raspingly bitter, but that’s because it’s lacking a malt body. I was really looking forward to this one but compared to the California double IPA it seemed somewhat light weight.
