Commercial Description:
Our example of a Belgian Abbey ale. This Belgian style has an aroma of fruits and nuts created by the combo of five malts and traditional Abbey Belgian yeast. The slight sweet malt flavor is balanced with the East Kent Golding Hops. 12IBU

Not sure why the bartender and brewer are calling this a abbey dubbel. Tastes more like an normal Northwest amber ale. Hoppy all through without any distinctive belgian spice. I was really disapointed, I was looking for a nice Belgian style dubbel and ended up with a amber. Pours copper with a white head. Citrus floral hops in the aroma over a caramel malt base. Lacks any yeasty character and doesn’t have enough carbonation to liven up the palate. Even as an amber this would be subpar for Roots.
