Commercial Description:
Festivus is a malty combination of Crystal and Chocolate malts with a copious amount of Galena, Centennial and Noble hops. This winter warmer olde ale is an ale for the "rest of us" during the winter season.

Draft at Roots and Belmont Station: Pours a dark amber red with a big creamy and peachish head. Aroma is veyr caramelly with floral hops. Flavor is very malty with toffee and caramel, toasted malts, moderate bitterness throughout with a nice oily resiny hop finish.

Had a glass of this a couple weeks ago at the Roots Brewery in Portland. Colour... dark, cloudy brown with no head. Nose... very malty and roasty with hints of Xmas spice. Palate... sweet up front but not overly so, bitter and roasty on the soft palate with a long, subtly spicy finish. Well done, Craig!

This seemed like the definitive winter ale. Tap... Poured reddish with a white head. Floral aroma. Good American strong ale with plenty of hops and sweet alcohol flavors. A little of a soapy finish, but not in a bad way. You know, this was a great beer, it may have gotten a better rating from me if it wasn’t overshadowed by their Epic ale and Flanders Red ale.

On tap at Hamiltons. Pours with a deep amber body topped by a pencil thin head with little lacing. It’s sweet and malty yet bitter and hoppy with a some pine notes. Full bodied and warming.

On tap at Roots Organic Brewing in PDX--Poured a rich mahogany-amber body with a minuscule off-white head. Nose of sweet malts and piquant PNW hops. Nutty, earthy, and piny with a rich bountiful mouth feel. Very enjoyable brew!
