Commercial Description:
We call this a red stout. A very full bodied complex ale brewed with a good amount of oats which help give this red a very rich and creamy head.

Pours a hazy copper amber with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of dry, grainy, toasty caramel malts with a touch of German yeast. Body starts semi-sweet with some light fruity notes and a touch of earthy bitterness before a drier thinner bitter finish. Seems too dry and bitter for an Altbier.

Pours a hazy red color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, roasty, caramel, and earthy peppery hops. Flavor is roasty, malty, caramel, and a bitter earthy peppery hop finish.

they apparently call it a red stout, the label says it is only a red organic ale, and RateBeer.com says it is an altbier... what the f*** is it? it is an earthy, sweet, and mildly spicy ale with nothing much going on for it; whatever, dude.

Darker amber colored. Aroma is caramel, toffee, somewhat hoppy (variety I just can’t get into). Medium bodied, moderate to high bitterness. OK.

Pours reddish copper with a thin tan head. Smells of rich creamy malt, some spice. Tastes mildly bitter with a nice compliment of sweet malt and touches of earthiness on the finish.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a ruby red color with a moderate tan head and good lacing. Nice nose of caramel malts, grassy hops, and fruit. Rich mouthfeel and high carbonation. Flavor of fruits and a bitter finish.

Dark amber. Almost a gusher. Huge carbonation, gigantic head. Aroma is toasty, but not in a good way. Some earthy organic hops too. Light toast, not sweet, lmild earthy bitterness. Too carbonated, seemingly thin, and unpleasant flavors that did not mesh well at all in my opinion. Maybe I got a bad bottle.

I smell caramel, smoke, dried apples. a murky reddish mahogany with minimal head (on tap). just a little chewy in the mouth, a little flat. I taste smoked malt, dark caramel, pine, burnt toast. [could someone at rate beer change this beer’s category--not an alt!)
