Commercial Description:
We call this a red stout. A very full bodied complex ale brewed with a good amount of oats which help give this red a very rich and creamy head.

towering explosive creamy head, had to wait quite a while to be able to drink it. dark copper, some haze. strong organic hop aroma. i’m amazed at the amount of carbonation in this beer. earthy seaweed hops dominate and all that carbonation hurts my gut.

4th Brewery 07-08 Brew Trip with Bikesandbeer. Draft, pours reddish amber. Nose of sweet malts. Taste is light and overly hoppy for a pruported amber and certainly if this is supposed to be an alt.

Thanks to Craig for pouring this special beer for me at Roots in Portland, Oregon--Rich hazy amber-dark copper-caramel body with a wispy inviting whitish head. Nose of robust malts and invigoratingly resinous hops. Full, sticky, chewy mouth feel. Flavor was gritty, earthy, roasty and bitter. Finished with a nice biting bitter citrus hops profile and a worthy malt spine. This one gets an A.

Caramel and cherries and lemons exude from the thick head. Hazy red amber in color. Noticeable roasty malts combine with some oaty creaminess followed by a wallop of citric hops. Extra credit for its uniqueness. YUM!

Tap @ Brewpub: Caramel ruby color, light head and lacing. Nose of nutty sweet caramel and husk, light chocolate and hop resins. Balanced sticky mouthfeel with a complex malt profile. Noticeable hops. Average.

On tap at the Roots brewpub during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Pours a clear reddish amber with a thin off-white head that quickly dissolves to a fine film. Aroma of toasted caramel malt, some grass hops with a touch of toffee. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium body with flavors of sweet caramel malt and a touch of tobacco. Finish is bitter with a dry toasted leafy aftertaste.

A nice malty Red but very hoppy and creamy also. Medium bitterness cutting through the medium to thick mouthfeel. A very full flavored red. Hits your palate all over.
