Very nice pale, for a pale ale in oregon this actually had very mild hops, which is a nice break from the pale/ipas we get here. Medium bodied with a good balance of malt sweetness and hop finish. Nice fruit character to the finish with a great clean aftertaste. Oakes (8114), Kowloon, Hong Kong
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2006 Hazy beige colour. The aroma is big on the grapefruits and tropical fruit notes (lime, mango, starfruit). The flavour shows a moderate pamplemousse and melon hoppiness and faint pale malts. It’s a bit thin overall, but I’m into the hops. Finishes quite hoppy and dry. If this is English, there must be a town in Oregon called England. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden

Dryish with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Dominated by lychee-like hops. The finish is resiny bitter with notes of ash. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 23, 2005 Murky pale yellow with some light orange colors. Musty cardboard flavor and bitterness, good but lacking depth. Like a simple bitter semi-sweet hop flavor, flowery and very dry. A little thin as well. The good parts include the grapefruit juice sourness and some belgian-like yeast flavors... again, this is another Roots beer that is hard to describe well. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA

Nose of floral hops and slightly roasted malts. Bitter, earthy, grassy, and sticky. Finished clean with a welcomed hop bite. Uber quaffable. BillKismet (1950), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2008 This was just called Roots Organic Pale Ale at Brouwer’s in Seattle. The description on the website notes 4 additions of Amarillo hops, so I’m not sure if this is the same as the Pond Turtle Pale Ale. In any case, the brew was briskly carbonated and topped with a decent 1/2" creamed foam head. Medium-bronze body. Nice fresh hop medley, perhaps amarillo, and a similarly enjoyable falvor with malt maltiness. Raw hop finish with mild dry bitterness. A great APA.
