A true hop heads dream. A little unbalanced, but not too much. This is up there with my favorite IPA’s. Roots is a must see if in Portland. ¾ (5009), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Very nice sweaty hop juice nose containing pineapple, nutty apple juice and some sour citric notes. Flavor is less bitter than expected - smooth almost. Has a BO/sweat scent and flavor. Decent body but strange overall... like some farmhouse or saison qualities, which is nice, but it still doesn’t work so well. porterdude (170), Bellingham, Washington, USA

The smell of Amarillo hops rises from this beer and plays with my nose. Deep hop bitter taste when first sipped. Gives way to citrus, and grassy flavors. A good maltback bone this beer sort of haves, just not enough to stand up to the hops. A good, but slightly un-balanced double IPA. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Pours a slightly cloudy copper with a light red hue and a off-white head. Big sharp piney/citrus hop nose. I wish this brew had a bit more sweetness up front to balance out the massive hop bitter finish, maybe mash at a higher temp and get some more sweetness. The finish was very bitter, really stayed with you forever in a long dry finish.
