Apr 19, 2008 Courtesy Oakes. Slightly dark golden color, with an even, thin head. Musky earthy hop character is low-level, but clean. Mildly soapy taste, relatively light on the hops. Hops buzz nicely on the palate for a bit, but overall the hops are lacking the typical strength and clarity for a PNW IPA.

Apr 8, 2008 Bottle, Merritt Is. Throwdown. Warm orange hue. Bitter, rooty, woody nose and easy-going sourdough rye flavors with a nice citrusy hop afterbite. Sticky palate.

Apr 5, 2008 Courtesy of Oakes. Pours a lightly hazy amber, with a small off white head. Smells of high citrus, and hops, with a decent malt backbone. The flavor has a bunch of hop bitterness flowing through, with some dry grapefruit tendencies, and some piney grass notes. The malt is on the lighter side, as this seemed more hoppy than not. Decent brew, drinkable, but possibly lacking a little balance.

Apr 4, 2008 Bottle… GIABMISGFAB… Hazy amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Resinous hops and oak abound in the aroma along with a light smoke phenol. Medium-bodied with a bristly mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Bitter, grapefruit pith essence. Finishes astringent, bitter and dry as Hell. Thanks to Oakes and Beershine for bringing this brew along with them!

Flavor is of wheaty hops, and some rye, and citrus. Bitter, acidic finish, with a unique citrusy bite. Interesting.

Mar 31, 2008 22oz bottle from bottletrek.com. One of the most interesting IPA’s I’ve ever come across. Pours burnt orange with a slight haze, lots of lacing. The nose is very hard to describe. Lots of citrus as well as grass and melon?? Flavor was much of the same. It must be the magnum hops, one variety I’m not too familiar with.

Mar 22, 2008 22oz. Bomber: Pours a copperish orange with a huge off-white frothy head that is mostly lasting and leaves nice lacing. Hoppy aroma has hints of pine and grapefruit. Hoppy bitterness is present in the first taste but finishes smooth. Has a thin mouthfeel but refreshing!
