22. Clear medium amber with thick, rocky white head and plenty of lace. Nice forward pine and spruce nose. Medium body, a little on the flat side. Pine, resin, and a little caramel and tea backbone. Long piney finish. Not really creative, and has issues that could be easily fixed to boost its score a fair bit.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Aroma of funky pine. Rich amber color with a flattened white head that does some ring lacing. Medium body with soft creamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted caramel with a lot of bitter - pine, citrus, funky herb. The finish is pretty dry and bitter, with the bitter resembling a pilsner (ignoring the roasted malt) - kind of noble hop finish. Maybe this is the magnum hop part. Damn decent IPA.

Pours an effervescent highly-carbonated copper orange with a large, long-lived, clingy frothy airy head. Aroma of earthy piny hops and some grapefruit with a touch of semi-sweet pale malt. Starts thin and fizzy, mildly sweet and sugary with a large, earthy bittering hop bite and some lemon citrus, but not much fresh flavoring hop character. Finishes drier and very bitter with some grassy notes, but little sweetness. Need a richer malt profile, crisper hop flavor and less CO2. Maybe my bottle was too old, but there’s no date on it.

Bomber.

Pours orange with a dirty white head. Aroma of powerful citrus hop aroma with leafy dry-hopping across the top. Big tangy flavor, like sucking on a big juicy hunk of grapefruit pith. The components are quite nice here, but someone this one doesn’t come together with quite the brilliance that one could imagine. But look - this is minor stuff. This is a damn good west coast IPA. It’s just that there are a lot of damn good west coast IPAs floating around these days, and this can’t quite rise about the pack.

Thanks to Ezra for the bomber! Poured lightly-hazy ambery golden with a towering cap of white head. The aroma picked up soft floral and detergenty notes with some caramel and drier earthy notes.. it really didn’t do much for me. The flavor had caramel and toffee sweetness at the core with earthy and pine bitterness.. the pine extended into the too-long finish.. nice earthy presence and some lemon zest appear toward the back.. again the finish was long and scathing. Medium-bodied and bitter on the palate with just OK balance. I didn’t care for this one.

Thanks to SamuraiArtist for this one. Almost through that box of rockin’ IPA’s. This one has a big ol white head the goes away after a minute or two. Cloudy orange color. Spice and citrus aroma. Baked bread and syrup as well. A bitter metallic hop experience with a little bit of sweetness. Grapefruit flavor towards the end. A little more malt character would be fantastic for this one.

Tap @ Brewpub: Caramel color, nice white head and lacing. Nose of spicy citrus and light malt, not very full but hoppy. The flavor is balanced, dry and dry hopped. No body, meh, all hop and no backup.

Amber color with a medium head. Aroma is floral and grassy with some pleasant, rustic/earthy undertones. Flavor is a nice earthy-floral hop mix with s slight maltiness that ties things together well. Tingly feel that was pleasant. Nice IPA that I wouldn’t mind having again.
